What newer construction changes

Homes here are generally newer block-and-stucco or frame construction, which means fewer decades of settled, exposed wood for termites to work on than a 1950s Betton Hills home. That's genuinely good news — but "newer" isn't "immune." New construction still develops conducive conditions (mulch against the foundation, irrigation moisture, landscaping touching the house), and subterranean termites in North Florida will find any home given time. Annual termite protection is still worth having.
